Solar eclipse-
All of you heard solar eclipse(सूर्य ग्रहण).This is nothing but example of forming of shadows in nature.
When the moon comes in between the sun and the earth,it casts its shadow on the earth.This can block,or partially block the raise of the sun.This phenomenon(घटना)is called solar eclipse.The type of solar eclipse is seen from a given location depends on weather the moon is passing directly or only partially between the earth and the sun.
A solar eclipse occurs on a new moon day when sun,the moon and the earth happen to be in a straight line with the moon coming in between the earth and the sun.
Lunar eclipse-
All of you now about lunar eclipse(चंद्र ग्रहण).We have also a situation where earth comes in between sun and moon.The earth then blocks the sunlight of the sun and casts its shadow on the moon.The type of eclipse occurs on full moon day when the sun,the earth , the moon comes in a straight line with the earth in between the sun and
the moon.
