Tap root system and Fibrous root system

Tap root system-
              In a number of plant it is observed that when a seed germinate a single root grows downwards into the soil.It then branches into small lateral roots.Such an arrangement of the root system is called the tap root system.example-pea,bean  etc.

Fibrous root system-
                   In some other plants it is observed that when a seed germinates several root grows out at the same time from the base of the stem such an arrangement of root system is called fibrous root system.example-maze,wheat,rice etc.
