Cells-Structure and functions

What is a cell?

Cells are the smallest units of life, and hence are often referred to as the "building blocks of life". The study of cells is called cell biology, cellular biology, or cytology. Cells consist of cytoplasm enclosed within a membrane, which contains many biomolecules such as proteins and nucleic acids.

What  are cell made of?

All cells are made from the same major classes of organic molecules: nucleic acids, proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids.

Human cells

There are 11 types of cell present in humans-

1.Stem cell

2.Bone cell

3.Blood cell

4.Muscle cell

5.Fat cell

6.Skin cell

7.Nerve cell

8.Endothelial cell

9.Sex cell

10.Pancreatic cell

11.Cancer cell

Plant cell

There are 7 types of plant cell

  • 1.Parenchyma cells.
  • 2.Collenchyma cells.
  • 3.Sclerenchyma cells.
  • 4.Xylem cells.
  • 5.Phloem cells.
  • 6.Meristematic cells.
  • 7.Epidermal cells.

We all are made up of cell but do know there are two types of living organism.

Euglena

Unicellular-Organism which are made up of a single cell.ex-Amoeba,Euglena etc.
Amoeba

Multicellular-Organism which are made up of many cells are known as multicellular.
